Where: The Southern
Cost: $10 Advance / $12 Day of Show
The holiday season will be kicking-off on December 19 when Vaden Cox returns to The Southern stage for the nineteen time. In addition to debuting some new tunes, Vaden will be playing his original southern rock, blues and gospel songs that are familiar to fans dating back to the days of Monticello Road. The evening rekindles last year's sell-out "Christmas Party" at The Southern that featured a reunion of Vaden with members of "Monticello Road", the C'ville's former Local Band of the Year. In addition, this year, Vaden's "Friends" will include Eric Heinsohn, whose Eric Heinsohn Band has previously headlined at The Southern, along with long-time Charlottesville super-percussionist John Stubblefield (of the John Spears Band), and Vaden's dad, Frank on bass, as well as some other surprises.
Spanning more than just the rock and blues genre, Vaden's original music has been influenced by personal travel, his two infant sons, and family tragedy, evoking interpretations that both plumb the depths and raise the spirits. The evening will be a great way to begin your celebration of the Christmas Season. This will be a family-friendly show.
