Born into an artistic, family in Los Angeles, California, in 1970, Beck began playing music in local coffeehouses around 1990, and has been astounding and delighting critics with his unique output ever since. Beck released his first hit single, "Loser," from his debut album, Golden Feelings, in 1993. The following year, he released his third studio album, Mellow Gold, which was a hit. Later albums include Odelay (1996), Guero (2005) and Morning Phase (2014).
Morning Phase took top honors at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. It is the first Album of the Year Grammy win of Beck’s 20+ year career. The universally acclaimed Morning Phase also took home the Best Rock Album award. Morning Phase was also the winner in the Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical) category. This brings Beck’s career Grammy tally to five including previous Best Alternative Music Performance awards for the albums Mutations and Odelay and a Best Male Rock Vocal Performance award for the song “Where It’s At.”
Most recently, Beck has released a new pop anthem, “Wow,” following up his 2015 dancefloor banger, “Dreams.” Beck mixes his slack-rap roots with outrageous pop production on his vibrant new track.
