Tom Tom Founders Festival is week of music, art, and innovation in Charlottesville, VA, April 13-19. The Festival combines real opportunities to launch ventures with ideas, art installations, bands, and parties in one of America’s most beautiful and historic small cities. This year, Tom Tom will feature dozens of events across Charlottesville’s pedestrian mall. Anchored by the daylong Tom Tom Founders Summit headlined by Reddit, the Container Store, Maker Faire, Lockn' Music Festival, and Chromat, the Festival will also include five free block parties, a farm-to-table restaurant week, three free pitch competitions, a mural series, and a Mid-Atlantic art fair.
Iron Chef At The City Market: The six contestants will each have a $50 budget, 35 minutes to tour the farmer’s market, and just 30 minutes to cook, before presenting their dishes to a formidable panel of local food celebs. The winner will take home $250 and the title of Charlottesville’s Iron Chef.
Yoga Art Grooves: Find your bliss where yoga, art, and music meet in the at Second Street Gallery with local instructor Lynsie McKeown inspired by the exhibitions ‘Praxinoscopes’ by Edward Thomas and ‘Meridians’ by Regina Miele. Instruction will be geared towards beginners and open to mixed-level practitioners. Wear comfortable clothes. Be prepared to sweat. $12, Bring a yoga mat and water. SSG will have a few mats and hand towels to rent for $1 each.
Wahoowa Mixer: Launched by HackCville, Wahoowa is a nationwide network and event series for entrepreneurial U.Va. alumni and students. Wahoowa launched in the summer of 2014 and has since held events in San Francisco, New York, Washington DC, and more.
