The Paramount Theater’s mission – to educate, enchant, enrich and enlighten – is rooted in our commitment to presenting a wide variety of arts, education, and entertainment opportunities for everyone to enjoy. The Paramount welcomes nearly 90,000 patrons annually purposefully offering a broad and diverse array of world-class performances ranging from classical, opera, live music, HD broadcasts, movies, comedy and much more! Originally built in 1931, The Paramount Theater is a cultural cornerstone on Charlottesville’s historic downtown mall. It is also Charlottesville’s largest classroom, serving thousands of school-age children each year through the Paramount Arts Education Program as well as public family performances.

Violet Crown Cinemas offer a variety of programming options including independent, foreign language, documentary and commercial films in 10 state-of-the-art auditoriums with reserved stadium seating. The Café features locally sourced, chef prepared food along with traditional theaters concessions. The Bar offers 36 rotating taps of craft beer, select wines and regional cider.
